The Private Fundraising team is based in Washington, DC and is responsible for raising funds from private sources (primarily individuals and foundations) to support TechnoServe's efforts around the globe. The team focuses on securing unrestricted funds and also works closely with senior management and field programs to identify private fundraising opportunities across the organization and link them with the appropriate donors and prospects.

The Data Management Coordinator will:

Raiser's Edge

  • Enter and track all revenue raised through private fundraising efforts in our Raiser's Edge (RE) database.
  • Will seek to expand the value for TechnoServe by improving use of RE as a fully integrated relationship management tool over the lifetime of the donor cycle
  • Oversee all aspects of gift entry, including online, recurring gift processing, direct mail, stock and wire transfers and white mail, as well as conduct reconciliation with finance department
  • Manage direct mail donor acknowledgement process
  • Input and update constituent data, providing detailed reporting and constructing complex queries, exports and reports
  • Develop, monitor and enforce data entry guidelines to ensure data quality and consistency

Record Creation, File and System Management

  • Coordinate, maintain and troubleshoot activity related to the RE database, including daily data entry, gift tracking, special events activity, campaigns and funds – including ongoing quality control of database information
  • Improve the use of constituent and other codes; update existing records and create new records with appropriate coding and linkages within the system
  • Work with the finance department to reconcile RE gift information with TechnoServe's general bank ledger
  • Coordinate and facilitate the exchange of data between TechnoServe and our direct mail vendor
  • Coordinate and manage the organization's relationship with Blackbaud

Gift and Interaction Entry

  • Oversee work of caging firm to ensure accuracy and efficiency of services
  • Manage relationship with merchant account provider
  • Manage direct mail donor acknowledgement process, including updating thank you letters
  • Enter gifts from TechnoServe Europe and from field-based programs;
  • Integrate records between the organization's online giving vendor and RE

Analysis and Reporting

  • Develop dashboard reports as needed by channel/audience
  • Perform complex data searches and exports to produce detailed and accurate reports derived from the donor database for use in mailings, data analysis, prospect analysis and appeal/campaign analysis

Other

  • Answer 800 line and respond to emails received through donorsupport@tns.org
  • Assist with state registrations as needed to ensure compliance.

You Will Have:

  • A bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of database management experience – RE highly preferred
  • Strong computer skills and experience in working with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Keen attention to detail, with strong time management skills
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Proven team player who enjoys a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Interest in international development and TechnoServe's mission
