THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN ABU DHABI, UAE.
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an SMSP and Summer Academy Program Coordinator.
The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program (SMSP) and the NYUAD Summer Academy together form the core of NYU Abu Dhabi's Community Programs, which offer a rigorous educational, cross-cultural, and leadership development experience to outstanding students in the UAE, and equip students from local institutions for admission to the world's top undergraduate and graduate programs.
Under the supervision of Administrative Director of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the leadership team of NYUAD Summer Academy, the SMSP/SA Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the academic mission and operations of both programs. S/he will support the department with processing financial transactions, serve as the point of contact for students, assist in raising the profile of the programs in the UAE and assist with program events.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
Two or more years prior relevant work experience.
Excellent communication skills; ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once; willingness to prioritize and adapt as necessary.
Well-developed cultural sensitivity.
Enthusiasm and energetic desire to carry out specific mission of programs.
Demonstrated success in adapting to rapidly changing business circumstances.
Experience with marketing and communications.
Experience with higher education.
Excellent proficiency with MS Office suite of tools: Excel, Word, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstances.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to team building and thrive in a team environment.
Experience working on a dynamic, upstart, collaborative, and global team.
Experience working directly with students or relevant training.
Experience with budgeting and financial systems.
Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
Flexibility with scheduling to allow for work on weekends and evenings, as necessary.
Fluency in Arabic.
Knowledge of InDesign or other graphic design program.
