Successful not-for-profit art gallery representing artists with mental illness seeks a creative and organized gallery manager. The full-time position requires that candidates have a passion for the visual arts, have excellent communication skills and be capable of engaging the gallery community of artists, volunteers, collectors and donors.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the production of gallery shows & events, working with curators and member‑artists
- Oversee on-site and digital art inventory
- Maintain website, social media pages and mailing lists
- Cultivate gallery patrons and facilitate art sales
- Liaise with Accounting department to assure payments to vendors, artists etc.; reconcile Amex statements, maintain and reconcile petty cash
- Work with Development team to facilitate grant proposals and fundraising events
- Engage interns and community volunteers
- Facilitate weekly communications meeting with member-artists
- Liaise with Communications Manager on marketing/publicity efforts
- Expand Studio program
- Assist member-artists in building professional portfolios
Bachelor's Degree required, as well as 2-3 years of administrative and/or project management experience. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Photoshop and Content Management Systems (CMS) preferred. Curatorial experience and/or art history background a plus.
Salary Range: 35-45k – Commensurate with experience plus benefits package.
Preferred Hours: Tues-Sat 11-7
