Position: Program Coordinator Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM (one hour lunch), Monday through Friday
Organization: LeAp is a non-profit educational organization that places teaching artists into the New York City public school system to teach academic subjects through the arts. Leap offers a wide range of programs that incorporate visual arts, music, dance, and theater into the academic curriculum.

We are seeking a very energetic, compassionate, computer and excel proficient college graduate with excellent written and verbal communication skills and at least 1-2 years of work or intern experience in a high pressure job in any field.
Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator, this position ensures that grant programming is handled in a timely and effective manner.
Responsibilities include scheduling programs, corresponding with Teaching Artists and schools via phone and email, creating work orders, contracts, and schedule confirmations using a database system and overseeing the day-to-day management of all programs. Other duties include marketing to schools and network leaders, prepping for monthly workshops, assisting with data entry and attendance monitoring, attending school and borough meetings, entering data in SPSS (including some data analysis), and performing other supportive tasks and duties as assigned.
Additional responsibilities include working with schools in the design of grant applications, writing year-end program reports, and assisting the directors with special projects and events.

Ideal candidates will possess the following skills:
Communication: Comfortable addressing a variety of audiences with a knowledgeable and friendly demeanor in person, over the phone, and via email.
Organization: Able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines at a time. Event planning experience a plus.
Team-player: A flexible "roll-up your sleeves" attitude and a willingness to support teammates as new projects arise.
Customer Service: Create a positive experience for schools, teachers, and artists especially when resolving conflicts.
Problem-solving: Approach challenges in creative ways and find thoughtful solutions to problems.
Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Google Apps required. Knowledge and comfort with SPSS, Photoshop, InDesign, and Constant Contact preferred.
Flexibility: As there are short periods of time when there is a great deal to do and a limited time to do it, a low-stress individual with a sense of humor would probably most enjoy this job.
Salary: low 30's commensurate with experience
