Description

The National Organization of Veterans' Advocates is seeking a new Executive Coordinator at their Washington, D.C. office on K Street. The EC will be responsible for the association's website maintenance, social media, bookkeeping, and membership services, including maintaining the membership database and the contact list for the press and potential new members. We are looking for a detail oriented, organized individual with superior computer skills. This is a full time position with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Operational Issues

•Responsible for website maintenance and updating website and online membership functions

•Responsible for maintaining membership database

•Edit and proofread NOVA materials

•Craft marketing materials through Microsoft Word, MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn

•Develop and maintain social media strategies and member services including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages

•Maintain the media contacts database

•Assist in promotion development for member services, benefits, and membership recruitment.

•Assist in identifying potential members and maintaining the potential member database

•Assist in the execution of the membership invoicing cycle

•Provide superior customer service to all external and internal customers.

•Assist various volunteer committee activities as appropriate.

•Assist in monitoring the Federal Register, the Congressional offices, and the VA and as well as other reports on issues related to veterans subjects

Event Assistance

•Work with Executive Administrator to properly coordinate meetings related activities

•Work with Executive Administrator to facilitate event pre-registration process and sponsorship invoicing for all Association events.

•Work with Executive Administrator onsite with meeting set-up, registration, and other duties as directed – twice per year.

•Assist with event promotion as needed.

•Assist with database entry system and registration for events.

oOffice & Administrative Duties

•Answer phones, email inquiries, and registration requests.

•Process and code payments that emanate from the Washington office.

•Maintain file systems.

•Create and send large mailings.

•Proof office correspondence.

•Other duties as assigned.

Office & Administrative Duties

•Basic bookkeeping, filing paid bills, etc.

•Proof office correspondence.

•Maintain inventory of DC office supplies including stationary.

•Create revenue, renewal, and registration reports in Excel as requested.

•Other duties as assigned.

Education & Professional Experience

•Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or English or equivalent experience.

•2-3 years of office experience preferably in membership, marketing, programs, or publications department.

•Proofreading experience in a professional setting.

•Excellent traditional and internet research skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

•Experience using a CRM and/or online based membership database systems

•Excellent computer skills, including some experience with website design and/or maintenance

•Basic working knowledge of Quickbooks online and basic bookkeeping and office skills (filing paid bills, etc.)

•Basic to intermediate HTML/CSS skills. Experience using Dreamweaver or other program in a professional setting is acceptable.

•Ability to travel two to four times per year.

•Superior organizational skills

•Excellent problem solving skills
