Database Manager
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented person to serve as its Database Manager. The Database Manager will oversee the development, implementation and use of the fundraising database and constituent management database used by the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). The Database Manager will play an integral role in the growth and development of the organization, as effective data management is key to AFC's strategic objectives. Specifically, the Database Manager will be responsible for managing the Raiser's Edge database and Convio's Luminate Online database and helping AFC to implement the use of Raiser's Edge and Convio throughout the organization, including continued configuration, data management, outreach strategies, and staff training.
Founded in 1985 by community activists and physicians, AFC is a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS. AFC collaborates with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; funds and coordinates prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champions effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy.
Principal responsibilities of this position include the following:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts or Computer Science or similar field preferred. Advanced computer proficiency in Raiser's Edge required and online communication tool Convio preferred. Minimum 5 years of prior experience in fundraising with at least two years Raiser's Edge database management or use required. Prior management or use of Convio preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects, establish workload priorities, and meet deadlines are critical.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to work with diverse populations, especially communities of color, and sensitivity to issues concerning HIV/AIDS and all disabilities is important. Must be able to interact with diverse populations and use active listening skills to determine appropriate response to callers, visitors, and others during daily activities.
