The Kiva Fellows Program (KFP) Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of recruitment, screening, onboarding, training, and offboarding of Kiva Fellows. The KFP Coordinator will join a team of three others working on KFP, and will focus their efforts on providing programmatic support to Kiva Zip, an innovative new direct-lending program in the United States and Kenya. To support Kiva Zip and the broader program, The KFP Coordinator will develop new recruitment channels for prospective fellows, work to build systems and tools to support those fellows, and will directly oversee the experiences of every potential and current applicant, as well as all active and former fellows. As the KFP Coordinator ensures that the program is meeting its deadlines and providing superior customer service, s/he will also innovate within the existing system and to develop new systems for Kiva Zip in order to drive the program's improvement. With a deep understanding of the experiences of all potential, current, and former Kiva Fellows, the KFP Coordinator will be responsible for shifting program focus or steering adjustments in order to best serve all stakeholders at Kiva and at our field partners.
Responsibilities:
- Screen Kiva Fellows with high quality and prompt customer service
- Design and run Kiva Fellows trainings at Kiva headquarters, including curriculum and logistics
- Coordinate end-of-fellowship activities with the aim to increase knowledge transfer and consolidate findings
- Provide direct support to fellows in the field working on Kiva Zip and ensure that the quality of the experience of each Kiva Fellow remains high
- Plan and implement recruitment efforts to attract high-quality Kiva Fellows with a focus on attracting quality candidates for US-based placements
- Support the development of a robust alumni engagement program
- Supervise one or more KFP Team interns to maximize their impact
- Liaise with Zip staff and other teams at Kiva in order to coordinate needs
- Maintain and innovate systems that support Kiva Fellows and sharing of information
Required Skills
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previously worked with a volunteer program or served as a Kiva Fellow
- Strategic thinker with program design, development, and evaluation experience
- Superior customer service orientation, both for internal and external audiences
- Adept at learning computer tools, familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, Excel, and Powerpoint a plus
- Experience or understanding of domestic economic development a big plus
- Great team player
- Strong public speaking skills a plus
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
- Evolved time management skills and a proven track record of managing projects
- Fluency in a foreign language (esp. Spanish and Swahili) a plus
- BA or equivalent degree required, Masters in Community, Economic Development, or Planning a big plus
