Job Title: Grant Financial Analyst
Organization: Fund for Public Health in New York, Inc.
Position Reports to: Assistant Director of Finance
Salary: Commensurate with experience, up to $60k/year.
The Fund for Public Health in New York, Inc. (FPHNY) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNY implements programs to address pressing public health needs, fosters private sector support to enhance health and health care, and helps educate the public regarding the protection of individual, family and community health.
As part of the FPHNY Finance Department and in conjunction with the FPHNY Grant Managers, the Financial Analyst will support a portfolio of Federal and Non-Federal grants by providing ongoing management and preparation of financial grant reporting and analysis. He/she will also assist the Development team in the preparation of budgets for new proposals, ensuring that proposals are compliant with FPHNY accounting policies and funder requirements, including OMB Circular A-122 for federal grants. The Financial Analyst will also assist in the financial operations of FPHNY, providing support for audits, accounts payable, and other areas as needed.
Collaborate with Development and Program Staff to develop budgets for grant proposals, as well as budget modifications and renewals for existing programs.
Maintain the grant budgets in the accounting software (Sage/MIP/Abila).
Create financial reports reflecting status of programs on a grant-to-date basis in order to:
Assist with all interim and final financial reports and submit in federal formats, as required by grant agreements.
Assist with the annual budget process, annual audits and other tasks as requested.
BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of experience in non-profit organization as a grant accountant, staff accountant, budget analyst, grant administrator, or equivalent position. Experience working with federal grants is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in Federal Cost Principles (OMB Circular A-122) and GAAP as it relates to non-profit organizations is strongly preferred.
Expert-level experience with Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting database software.
Must be detail-oriented and have an ability to carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial project managers. Ability to integrate with a team and provide excellent internal customer service to our program partners at NYC DOHMH.
Demonstrable ability to prioritize tasks according to deadlines and deliver work on schedule with minimal supervision.
