Description

Community Preservation and Development Corporation (CPDC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop vibrant communities in the DC metropolitan area through innovation and partnership. CPDC's work is to preserve financially sound, socially responsible affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families, and to empower and enrich the lives of the residents by offering community development programs.

CPDC is currently seeking a full-time RESIDENT SERVICES MANAGER to coordinate resident services designed to promote CPDC program and partner resources to the community and residents. This position is located at the Island Walk community (1701 Torrey Pines Court, Reston VA 20190) and the Westwood Oaks community (10734 West Drive, Fairfax VA 22030).

The Resident Services Manager (RSM) promotes activities and services through collaborative partnerships that include residents, property and asset management, and other service providers. The RSM provides residents with information about and supportive access to local services and resources that can assist the residents to achieve their objectives. The RSM may be responsible for supervising volunteer members, performs a variety of tasks, and works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. This position reports to the Regional Resident Services Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of human services, with a minimum of one year of experience working with people of low income; or a minimum of three years of documented, successful experience in community development or community organizing activities.
  • A working knowledge of the local social services system or the ability to quickly develop such knowledge.
  • Ability to identify, assess , select, develop and maintain community service referral partnerships that assist residents in achieving their goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer competency and technology skills.
