Description of Position
This Manager will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate NCPP's mission. This position will work closely with a senior peer group including staff members from IT, Resource Development, and Program teams as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives.
Description of Duties
- Communications Strategy, Vision, and Leadership
- Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance NCPP's brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities; and increase visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences
- Identify challenges and emerging issues faced by the organization
- Work with leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions; define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
- Provide staff support and leadership to Ad Hoc Branding team (board, staff and external volunteers) through NCPP rebranding process
- Lead internal Communications Team across all departments
- Communications Operations
- Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including annual report, report cards, e-newsletters, brochures, website, etc.
- Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where, and when to disseminate
- Serve as lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization
- Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities, and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed
- Actively engage, cultivate, and engage press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding NCPP's non-profit programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects
- Oversee the day to day activities of communications function including the budgeting, planning, development, and evaluation of communications impacts
- Develop and upload web content to support resource development and program needs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for NCPP's mission.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years experience in strategic communications and public relations, including development of messaging and appropriate medium to effectively reach priority audiences. Experience in branding an organization through print, social media, website, YouTube and other new media. Experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of print and e-newsletters, press releases, annual report, marketing materials, and website.
- Experience with nonprofit organization is considered a plus.
