Job Summary
The Development Assistant supports the overall goals and objectives of the Development Office. This position reports to the Senior Director of Development and is responsible for the administrative duties of the Development Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage YWCA Bergen County donor database (eTapestry) including data entry of donations, printing thank you letters, filing of all backup and maintaining records.
- Run reports as required through eTapestry for finance, communications and development departments.
- Provide all administrative duties for development committees including typing agenda and minutes as well as maintaining committee member databases and scheduling meetings.
- Provide administrative support for YWCA grants including collaborating with healingSPACE personnel on complex state and federal grants.
- Maintain records for all completed grants.
- General administrative duties to include processing purchase orders, maintaining departmental files, ordering supplies and managing Senior Director's calendar.
- Administer timely submission of licenses and permits for state, local and event specific agencies (i.e. – gaming license, bulk mail permit).
- Assist Development Coordinator as needed with event planning needs.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year office experience
Knowledge:
- Some database management and fundraising software experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and professional demeanor
