The job of providing stimulating programming for young children in a center-based program can be both extremely rewarding and challenging. Encouraging the development of young children requires that you have knowledge about and learned skills in: (1) how children grow and develop, (2) planning activities for children in a creative learning environment, (3) securing a safe and healthy place for children to play, (4) how to communicate with an increasingly diverse population of children and their families, (5) effective group management strategies, and (6) a commitment to learning how to best educate and care for the young child.
The Program Coordinator of Early Childhood is responsible for creating a stimulating and age appropriate environment for young children and their parents conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students with an emphasis on language development and emergent literacy skills. The Coordinator must demonstrate the ability to support the social and emotional development of children as well as provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels of the children. The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for selecting books, equipment and other instructional materials appropriate for the early childhood program and will develop and facilitate child development instruction for parents.
Qualifications:
- Associate /Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
- Experience teaching in early childhood education.
- Basic computer skills and professional written and verbal skills.

Position is Part-Time. Starting salary is $18.13/hr.
