Avesta Housing, the largest non-profit affordable housing agency in Maine and one of New England's leading developers and managers of affordable housing, is seeking a highly motivated person to join our housing development team.
The Development Officer will coordinate the development, financing, and construction of new affordable housing projects.
Applicants must possess relevant knowledge of multifamily housing development. They should have confidence with pro formas and underwriting experience. Experience working with various regulatory agencies such as HUD, MaineHousing, or USDA Rural Development is preferred. Project management skills are critical in addition to excellent communication, technological, and analytical skills.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in some aspect of real estate development (ideally underwriting, grant writing, and project development experience). They will be a strategic, resourceful, and innovative thinker with a commitment to affordable housing.
