The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Primary Care Information Project (PCIP) is devoted to improving population health in underserved neighborhoods through health information technology. PCIP was awarded funding to become the Regional Extension Center in New York City – the NYC Regional Electronic Adoption Center for Health (NYC REACH). In collaboration with The Fund for Public Health in New York (FPHNY), a not for profit corporation serving as program partner with DOHMH to implement and advance public health initiatives, NYC REACH is seeking an Clinical Quality Coordinator.

As a Clinical Quality Coordinator (CQC),you will be responsible for supporting NYC REACH providers with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) registration, adopt, implement, and upgrade (A/I/U), and Meaningful Use guidance. This will require frequent contact with providers, use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database (Salesforce), and project management with CQ team members to ensure the timely completion of project and contract deliverables. The CQC will utilize a combination of software systems to track the progress of meaningful use achievement for a caseload of New York City providers.

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative, problem solving, and communication skills to resolve problems in a complex work environment. In addition, the candidate should have prior experience using one or several EHR systems, such as: eClinicalWorks, MDLand, Allscripts, GE, and NextGen. This position is currently grant funded through February, 2014, and has strong potential for continued funding.

Major duties include:

  • Assisting providers with CMS EHR Incentive Program registration and attestation for Medicare and Medicaid programs
  • Reviewing CMS Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration and attestation data, tracking progress for program participants, identifying barriers in the attestation process, and recommending solutions for overcoming barriers
  • Proactively contacting various subsets of grant eligible providers to coordinate their Meaningful Use education learning plan (i.e. Webinars and on-site training for AIU registration and attestation, privacy and security, and Meaningful Use)
  • Monitoring and responding to provider service requests submitted through the NYC REACH website and internal requests submitted through Salesforce
  • Assisting Clinical Quality Specialists with the coordination of services provided to NYC REACH members, which include: CMS registration, A/I/U, and Meaningful Use support
  • Performing audits in Salesforce to ensure accuracy of data entered in each practice's record and completion of required documentation for PCIP grant milestones
  • Gathering updates from CQ team on A/I/U progress and Milestones 2 and 3
  • Providing education to providers and practice staff via webinars to ensure a successful achievement of program grant deliverables
  • Utilizing CRM database, project management software and other tools to track the progress of Meaningful Use achievement
  • Serving as a liaison between practice providers and various teams within PCIP, and promoting other program activities to the practice
  • Planning, organizing, leading and completing special projects as needed

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • CRM (Salesforce) and Electronic health record experience
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of principles related to Meaningful Use
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship management
  • Must be willing to travel within the 5 boroughs of New York City, and occasionally work nights and weekends
