Position Description:

The Washington Center seeks an experienced professional to join its Office of Admissions and Institutional Relations (OAIR). This position could be comparable to an Associate Director of Admissions on a college campus. We operate in an entrepreneurial environment, maintain focus on objective measures of success, and are committed to continuous improvement.

The senior manager works closely with senior staff and provides hands-on leadership within the recruitment function, targeting prospective students and in-progress applicants as they inquire, explore and apply to TWC.

In support of TWC's strategic and operational enrollment goals, responsibilities include effective coordination, development, delivery and assessment of awareness campaigns, communications, customer service and counseling to prospective students.

This position is highly collaborative within the department as well as cross-functional teams, including Communications and Information Technology. The successful candidate will be expected to leverage and develop a deep understanding of technology, including CRM (Salesforce), mass email platform (ExactTarget) and other customer service tools.

Essential Functions listed in order of importance:

JOB FUNCTION

  • Oversee daily operations of the admissions area and all aspects of the development, design, implementing, updating and assessment of student-centered communications, recruitment outreach and customer service initiatives throughout the year. Train, support and manage a team of full-time and temporary staff.
  • Coordinate email campaigns end-to-end, including content development, database segmentation and list management, email campaign analysis and optimization, and email database growth.
  • Develop and employ relevant analysis and metrics across the spectrum of recruitment and communications activities to measure effectiveness and advance continuous improvement aimed at yield management and applicant conversion; leverage market research and internal assessments to enhance the impact of recruitment, student communications strategies and customer service.
  • Act as primary administrator of the department's mass-Email platform (Exact Target) including managing and maintaining student data, training staff and interfacing with vendor and/or IT department as necessary.
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool, Mass Email platform and customer service tools related to Admissions.
  • Assist Director of Institutional Relations in selection of campus visits and recruiting events.
  • Oversee training(s) and development of campus representatives and provide direction on messaging.
  • Manage execution of on-campus recruitment visits including monitoring of staff, tracking key performance indicators in CRM and approving expenses.
  • Write, edit and/or collaborate with others regarding web content and recruitment collateral.Serve as moderator for website.
  • Recruit at 4-6 colleges and universities each semester.

Education and Experience an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications or relevant field is required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years in admissions or related higher education setting – including demonstrated leadership, supervision and motivation of professional staff – is preferred. Other experience in a sales or marketing environment considered.
  • Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with CRM, student information systems and innovative technologies for recruitment and admissions is also required; experience with Salesforce and Exact Target, specifically, a plus.

  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

  • Ability to analyze data to assess outcomes
