Responsibilities
Making Cents is looking for the right candidate to join our team to support all activities related to business development, principally with bi-lateral and multi-lateral funders. The position requires someone with strong leadership skills and strategic vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in USAID procurement and contracting with proven success in building relationships and securing new business. The Business Development Manager/Senior Manager will often work on and with multiple proposal teams simultaneously. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure, delivering high quality results in a fast-paced environment. S/he enjoys working with and managing people in a small business environment. The title of Manager or Senior Manager will be determined after review of the final candidate's experience.
Principal Duties
Qualifications
·Master's Degree or equivalent inbusiness administration, international relations, or other relevant area.
·Manager-level requires at least 5 years of experience, preferably with a minimum of three in business development at a large organization or consulting firm. Senior Manager level requires 7-10 years of experience, with a minimum of five in business development. Experience with USAID-funded projects is required.
·Technical experience in micro and small enterprise development and/or youth enterprise, livelihoods, and workforce development and economic growth. Some knowledge of or experience in health would be a plus.
·Project and staff managerial experience.
·Proactive self-starter who is able to carry out tasks with limited supervision.
·Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
·Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and able to handle multiple deadlines.
·Effective verbal and written English communication skills, especially writing and editing skills.
·Experience with desktop publishing and graphic design experience and/or related software a plus.
·Proficiency in English and a second foreign language is desirable, particularly French or Arabic.
·Experience living and/or working in developing countries.
·Experience and interest in marketing and communications preferred.
Working ConditionsNormal office environment, ability to travel and work abroad in less developed countries. Up to 10 % travel anticipated.
