Employment Specialist / Employment Counselor
Temporary
As a part of the interdisciplinary team, the Employment Specialist is responsible for assessing residents' interests, employment history, aptitude, and abilities in order to develop appropriate employment plans. The Specialist provides vocational and educational counseling and referrals to job readiness, training, and placement programs, which lead to either full-time or part-time unsubsidized employment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or;
- Associate's degree along with three (3) years work experience in the employment counseling field or;
- HS diploma/GED and 3-5 years related experience, but specific to the field of employment counseling or;
- HS diploma/GED and minimum 7 years experience of a combination of work experience in the employment counseling field and other related experience within the social services field
- Bilingual English-Spanish a plus
- Must be computer literate (Micosoft applications required).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
