Save Our Safety Net DC

Save Our Safety Net is a local initiative to move residents and public officials to expand and create a more just and sustainable system of social services for DC residents. SOS-DC seeks to organize people of privilege, young people, and others to work in solidarity with - and as a complement to - grassroots organizing among low income people and people of color who are most impacted by the successes and shortcomings of city services.

We demand DC provide district residents with services that fully meet residents' needs, expand opportunities to move out of poverty, and improve quality of life for low income individuals and families.

We believe that providing these services is the responsibility of local government and we are committed to calling public attention to local government's failings and opportunities to act through use of mainstream and social media, mass mobilization, and the strategic disruption of business as usual.
