About us

IAD Press – - is the publishing arm of the Institute for Aboriginal Development (Aboriginal Corporation), a not for profit Aboriginal community controlled organisation. IAD is located in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), the traditional lands of the Arrernte people of the Northern Territory of Australia.

Established in the early 1970's, IAD Press has built a strong reputation nationally and internationally as an Indigenous publisher of excellence. The purpose of IAD Press is to:

  • Publish the works of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers and artists,
  • Promote the many and varied voices of Indigenous Australia, and
  • Maintain and promote Indigenous language and culture.
