About Us

Transitions Radio is a weekly, online podcast that covers a wide range of topics from current events, arts and entertainment, politics, relationship and dating advice to interviews with local musicians, artists and entrepreneurs. With all this on their plate, one would think the Transitions Radio crew has been doing this kind of stuff for years.

In fact the members of Transitions Radio, or Transitions for short, only met for the first time in April 2010 in the “fish bowl” room of Cabrini’s library to see if creating, producing, and delivering a weekly podcast could be realized. The project is headed by 2009 Cabrini College Alum Janene Gibbons and 2010 Alum Noelle Westfall. In the role of Executive Producers of Transitions, Janene and Noelle were able to start their own production company called Jump Start This Productions and lead ten recent college graduates with experience in broadcasting to start a new, exciting podcast for post grads, made by post grads.

Although Transitions is made up of cast and crew from all different college's and universities there are some major Cabrini ties. Cabrini College alumni have had a huge impact on the creation, development, and production of Transitions Radio. The website was created by Jillian Smith (Eng/Comm Alum May 09’) and Marc Zubricky (Alum May 09’). The multi-media for Transitions Radio is handled by Danielle Alio, a junior at Cabrini.

We have been featured in the Loquitur, Cabrini’s award-winning newspaper and also have a fondness for Cabrini's library where all of our production meetings were held. We have also had many Cabrini alumni and staff on our show as guests including Byll Monahan (English May 2010), Charles Bush( Eng/Comm 2009), Patrick McGowan (Eng/Comm 2010) and Tara McFalls, a staff member who works in the Graduate division at Cabrini who Janene Gibbons recently interviewed for her performance in Tri- County Performing Art Center's production of "Wait Until Dark."

The Transitions crew has made leaps and bounds since their first meeting and currently broadcasts weekly to 300-400 listeners and 1700 views a month on their website. They have made a home at Borders Bookstore at 801 N. Bethlehem Pike in North Wales, PA and record the hour long show live from 7:00-8:00 PM every Thursday.

For the time being the cast and crew of Transitions consider this project a labor of love but hope to gain sponsors in the near future and eventually get picked up by an AM or FM radio station. Right now, in lieu of financial compensation the group finds an immense amount of satisfaction in being able to follow their passion of broadcasting while providing a platform for others to do the same. The content is aimed at a demographic of men and women, age 22-32 years old, who are experiencing transitions of their own. Whether that means leaving college to move back home, heading off to graduate school, struggling to find a job, or taking those first steps into a promising career. Transitions Radio hopes to give something back to for those who are attempting to follow their dreams.

Transitions hopes to continually grow as a team, and in its ability to reach out to a wider audience. We are always looking for new listeners, sponsors and guests for the show. Also, if you are interested in learning more about Transitions, or becoming a member of the Jump Start This Productions team, get in contact with us to sit in on a show and see how we produce the podcast.
