The New York Unemployment Project is a membership based organization of unemployed and low-income New Yorkers organizing to promote living-wage jobs, progressive economic development and adequate income support.
Throughout 2002, NYUP played a key role in organizing support for a state and federal extension of unemployment insurance benefits for the long-term unemployed.
NYUP is a project of the National Employment Law Project. NELP has advocated for the working poor and the unemployed for over 33 years.
