This 10th anniversary year, weare working to solidify best practices and grow to meet the needs of the 140,000 residents of Washington County and beyond without adequate income or insurance.

We are the only safety net clinic providing free urgent care in Washington County. The Essential Health Clinic was founded in 2001 by a consortium of hospital systems andcommunity partners to alleviate the strain on hospital Emergency Rooms and provide accessible urgent care to populations in need. In 2008, the Essential Health Clinicbecame an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We have since grown to two clinics, three clinic nights per week, six staff members, dozens of institutional ssupporters and over 200 active volunteers.
