About Us

The Springfield Township Historical Society was organized in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in 1985 with the purpose of researching and preserving the history of Springfield Township and educating the general public as to this history.
Specifically our focus is to:
-Research, collect, make available, and preserve materials pertaining to the township's history.
-Maintain a record of the historically significant buildings.
-Document the local history of individuals, families, businesses, institutions, or other entities of value.
-Work toward the preservation of buildings of architectural and historic merit.
-Endeavor to certify historic properties through the State and/or National Register programs.
-Identify those persons who have significantly contributed to the township's history.
-Present programs of historic significance to the public.
