About us

Founded in 1841, Fordham is an independent university in the Jesuit tradition, which grants baccalaureate degrees in the liberal arts and sciences and business administration to both traditional and non-traditional students. Fordham's undergraduate student body and workforce reflects the diversity of the metropolitan area in which the University is located and includes students from other regions who are attracted to New York's cosmopolitan culture. Fordham enrolls more than 14,600 undergraduate and graduate students in its 10 Colleges and Schools. Students today come to Fordham from all 50 states and from 89 foreign countries. Fordham's Rose Hill Campus, the largest "green campus" in New York City, with traditional collegiate Gothic architecture, cobble-stone streets and green expanses is located on 85 magnificent acres in the north Bronx, adjacent to the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo.
