  • About Us

The Society of Jesus (Jesuits) is the largest religious order of men in the Catholic Church. Our 20,000 brothers and priests, organized into regional 'provinces', work in more than 120 countries. All Jesuits begin their formation in a two-year novitiate program grounded in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. This experience prepares the way for the freedom necessary to serve the Church around the world. Our vows of poverty, chastity and obedience provide the context of our freedom and the sustaining current of our prayer and dedication to the person of Jesus, alive in the world.
