About us

Burmese Students Association at IUPUI is a group of nonprofit organization promoting and educating international communities about Burma. It seeks the support of international communities to help Burmese Students from Burma....

The main purposes of forming this group are:
1.) To have fellowship among us (it will give us more mutual understanding among us as well as it will promote our fraternity).
2.) To maintain our identity and show it to international communities.
3.) To educate people around us about Burma.

Myanmar (Burma) is in South-East Asia, which is in between India and China. It is one of the earliest homes of mankind, where one can have exclusive experiences of a life-time. Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is recognized by the world as the Golden Land. People call the country 'Myanmar' in our language ever since the Burmese people got independence, even though early British who came to our country called it 'Burma' centuries ago. The country name was officially changed from "Burma" to "Myanmar" in 1989.

Myanmar (Burma) only has three seasons: hot season, rainy season, and cold season. Hot season starts from March through June. Rainy season starts from June through October. Cold season starts from October through March.
