About Us

South Indian Maharashtrian Association (SIMA) is a Non Profit Cultural Organisation established in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now Telengana) in 1978 to bring together a small community of South Indian Maharashtrians with ancestral base in Tanjore, Tamilnadu over 400 years ago. The community is about 500 members residing in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Many  members are well placed in the Society like Bureaucrats and Professionals. The organisation is a charitable association registered u/s 12 A of the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the donations to the organisation are exempt u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
The organisation has members who are well integrated with the local culture and for all practical purposes they are the natives of the states in which they reside, though they speak Marati at home.     SIMA is a very vibrant organisation with social activities due to the active participation of its members who are service oriented.
