Minnesota Legal Services Coalition-State Support Center

St. Paul, MN

About Us

The MLSC State Support Center's activities include sponsoring training events for legal services staff in 35 legal services offices and projects around the state, and for volunteer and judicare attorneys; coordinating monthly statewide task force meetings; publishing a newsletter twice each month which is distributed to legal services staff, judicare and volunteer attorneys, and other interested persons; and coordinating the production of community legal education materials. In addition, the Center serves as the technology hub, coordinating technology planning and implementation.

The Center serves as the "backbone" of the legal services delivery system; it is the clearinghouse and coordinating force for legal services in the state. It is the Center's mission to prevent wasteful duplication of effort, assist field staff in identifying emerging issues affecting clients, and keep field advocates apprized of matters that impact the legal rights of poor people in Minnesota.
