Description

The Homeless and Housing Coalition of Kentucky (HHCK) is the only statewide advocacy organization focusing on homelessness and housing issues in the Commonwealth. Since 1987 we have served as a statewide network of nonprofit organizations working together to eliminate the threat of homelessness and fulfill the promise of affordable housing in Kentucky. Through the Housing Now and Samaritan Programs, we provide permanent supportive housing to homeless Kentuckians with long-term disabilities. In addition, HHCK operates an AmeriCorps program called Build Corps, which places individuals in service positions at non-profits throughout the state that work with homeless and economically disadvantaged families and individuals. Build Corps members build, weatherize, and renovate low-income housing, teach financial literacy, provide housing placement services, and recruit and manage volunteers.
