The James House provides support, advocacy, and education for people in the Tri-Cities area of Virginia who are affected by sexual violence, domestic violence, or stalking to empower them to become healthy, safe, and self-sufficient. All of our services are trauma-informed, cost-free, confidential, and culturally relevant. Services are available for men, women, and children. We offer a 24/7 hotline (804) 458-2840, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, case management, legal advocacy, prevention education, community awareness/training opportunities, and volunteer/intern opportunities. We have bilingual/bicultural staff (Spanish and Swahili) and we serve traditional underserved populations including (but not limited to) LGBTQ, elder, and African-American.
