Dudley Promise Corps

About Us

The mission of the Dudley Promise Corps is to leverage the power of national service to ensure all students in Boston's Dudley neighborhood are proficient in reading by grade 3 and on track to attend college and serve as responsible citizens who actively contribute to their communities. The program addresses one of Boston’s most pressing education challenges: the deep and persistent achievement gaps that disproportionately affect children living in poverty, students of color, and students who are English language learners.

The Dudley Promise Corps partners with Boston Teacher Residency in classrooms and schools and during days of service. Together, the corps members and teacher residents form the 90-member Boston Promise Corps, a collaborative effort between Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Governor Deval Patrick, the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, and BPE.
