  • About Us

p.h. balanced films aims to create a world in which important stories are told by the communities that know them best in order to promote justice and equality. Recognizing that informed policy requires informed policy makers, our Reel Women Real Change program shares best practices in advocacy and storytelling for change. These workshops support women change makers in addressing the issues that matter most to them and their communities.

Around the world, the majority of policymakers and thought leaders are men. As a result, laws, policies, and systems often fail to account for women’s perspectives, as seen in everything from nationwide laws that inadvertently limit women’s opportunities, to workplace regulations that ignore the realities of pregnancy, childbirth, and child rearing, to prison policies that fail to account for menstrual cycles of female inmates.

We understand the power of storytelling to raise awareness of social injustices, shape public policy, shift cultural understanding, and promote equality. Our program equips women to bring stories illustrating inequality to those in a position to remedy it, thus breaking barriers and advancing meaningful change in their own lives and communities.
