About Us

About Us

Teachers for Tomorrow is a nonprofit charity whose goal is to develop and strengthen the educational capacity of rural Cambodia through scholarship programs for high school students who aspire to eventually pursue a career in education. It seeks to accomplish this goal through directing individual charitable contributions to the scholarship programs and operates in the Seam Reap area of Cambodia.

Teachers for Tomorrow was established in 2012 and is legally registered as a charity in State of Washington. For more information, please see our website at www.teachersfortomorrow.org

Current Status (August 2014)

We are providing high school scholarships for five teenagers We are providing daily English classes to 45 village kids We are providing a monthly Life Skills course for 16 adolescent girls on topics such as human trafficking, reproductive health, drug and alcohol abuse, and home economics We have sponsored four vertical vegetable gardens in rural villages and have donated three bicycles We have been educating 30 university and high school students from the U.S.A and Thailand about the challenges of the rural poor in Cambodia We have our first corporate sponsor: Transpo Logistics of Bangkok.

We are in the process of receiving our 501(c)3 Non-Profit status.

Partnerships: Teachers for Tomorrow is currently working in partnership with the Spitler School Foundation, a U.S.-based 501(c)3 non-profit that runs a school for over 800 students in Siem Reap, Cambodia. They were very helpful through their advice to and support of TFT. In 2013, The Spitler School will have its first class of eight-grade graduates from which Teachers for Tomorrow will recruit for its 2013 Scholarship Program.

Objectives

  • 2014 Identify and Fund 8 High School Student Scholarships
  • 2015 Identify and Fund 12 High School Student Scholarships; expand English language training programs to two more villages.
  • 2016 Identify and Fund 16 High School Student Scholarships. expand English language training programs to two more villages.

Due to the predominance of females being subjected to work in the sex industry in Cambodia, all future scholars will be female.
