The Massachusetts Workforce Professionals Association (MWPA) is a nonprofit membership association consisting of local workforce professionals in Massachusetts. Its members include
Municipal employees appointed by mayors and other chief local elected officials as fiscal agents of public workforce funds,
Directors of local nonprofit organizations that manage public workforce programs, and
Directors of the state's one stop career centers, including those managed by the state, by community colleges and higher education employees.
On behalf of its members, the MWPA serves as the primary local contact with federal, state, and quasi-public workforce development agencies. The MWPA plays a unique role in the workforce system by integrating the programmatic and policy perspectives of its members in its responses and recommendations on workforce issues.
The MWPA strives to build a highly skilled Massachusetts workforce by leading and advocating for its members within the national and state workforce communities. As a voice for the workforce system the MWPA focuses on promoting and enhancing the skills and employability of all Bay State residents to ensure that businesses have the talented labor force to compete across the globe. Members develop and implement innovative lifelong learning employment programs and services from a youth's first job through adult careers.
