Berkshire Children and Families Parent Aide Volunteer Program

  • About Us

The Parent Aide Volunteer Program recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who provide home-based support to Hampshire County parents who are stressed & often isolated from a supportive community. It also identifies families who are struggling. Each volunteer is matched with a parent/s who is stressed and provides a weekly home visit. The program's goal is to strengthen & empower parents by giving them new tools to help them in their parenting journey. Compassion, common sense & the ability to listen to a parent are required. Berkshire Children & Families in Hadley will provide the training & supervision. Volunteer 3-5 hours per week. A car is required. A spring training group is now being recruited. No commitment is required until after you have completed the training which entails a 3 hr class once a week for 6 weeks.
