California Center for Rural Policy

  • About Us

The California Center for Rural Policy (CCRP) is a research center at Humboldt State University. CCRP conducts research to inform policy, build community, and promote the health and well-being of rural people and environments. CCRP accomplishes this by using innovative research methods tailored to the study of rural people, environments, and their interactions.

CCRP’s definition of health is broad; we believe that health is directly related to poverty and a person’s environment. In order to be healthy, people must have adequate housing, transportation, access to medical care, and social services. Moreover, these must be distributed equitably throughout the community to ensure health for all.
