About us

For 30 years, the Broadway Center has served as one of Northwest's largest performing arts centers including three theaters, serving 250,000 patrons annually in downtown Tacoma. Our vision, "will energize and help lead a renaissance that brings shared joy and prosperity to our community." We strive toward this vision through our mission to, "entertain our community through top quality and diverse performances; Ensure our children's development through education and the arts; Empower our citizens through participation; and Enable our historic buildings and drive the revitalization of the Theatre District." The Broadway Center's values drive its approach and measure its integrity: "Openness, Joy, Courage, Diversity, Inclusiveness and Stewardship." Since 2006, the organization has been completely reorganized and grown from approximately $2 million to more than $5 million annually through a diverse set of revenues that include fundraising, ticket sales, education services, facility management (City contract, rent and ancillary services), concessions and other miscellaneous earned revenues. The fund raising goal through all sources is approximately $1.5 million annually. The Broadway Center has several years of very positive net revenues, a positive fund balance as well as a modest endowment and reserve fund. In preparation for the Centennial Anniversary of its two primary theaters, the Pantages and Rialto, the Broadway Center is preparing to lead a major capital campaign to be completed by 2020.
