About Us

Founded in 1955, NAASR is one of the world’s leading resources for advancing Armenian Studies, connecting scholars of Armenian Studies and the public, and building community worldwide to preserve and enrich Armenian culture, history, and identity for future generations. NAASR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a membership structure, located in Belmont, MA. NAASR operates a leading bookstore on Armenian topics onsite and online, hosts more than 50 excellent public programs each year viewable on NAASR's YouTube channel ArmenianStudies and conserves its world-class Mardigian Library.

In November 2019, NAASR opened its spectacular new headquarters built as a global research center and welcoming gathering place, with up-to-date technology to broadcast its programing worldwide and protections to safeguard its archival collections and irreplaceable rare book Mardigian Library. The building is named after the world-class educator and philanthropist Vartan Gregorian. NAASR transitioned smoothly to virtual programming during the pandemic and has deepened its excellence while staff currently works both remotely and at times in the office. Visit www.naasr.org for more information.
