  • About Us

FBU is a non-profit NGO that has worked in Ecuador in rural development since 1953. Our projects focus on:

    • Improving agricultural and forestry production with an agro-ecological focus
    • Sustainable management of natural resources
    • Local development
    • Training local communities in subjects such as: agro-ecology, environmental education, small businesses and institutional development

The foundation also manages a volunteer program which invites volunteers to live and work in rural areas of Ecuador. Our cultural exchange methodology focuses on equal interchange between community members and volunteers. Our programs offer multiple opportunities to explore and learn about Ecuadorian culture, customs, and traditions.
