Retort Art Space is an art space in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) with an ongoing program of exhibitions. Retort has been showing art projects the past twelve years, always offering an extra program of lectures, art education and debates. The debate and dialogue about contemporary art and actively engaging the audience are on the top of our list. We search for interaction with science and hot topics, aiming to put art back into our society. Retort wants the audience to reflect, to engage in the debate about art and be part of the process of creating art. It is a very lively place where performance art, installations, visual art meet other domains like music, poetry, fashion and design. Artists are encouraged to engage local companies, institutions and neighbors in their projects, by means of collaborations, education programs for schools or lectures.
