About Us

New York Nativity is a network of three, Jesuit-sponsored, tuition-free middle schools that help over 200 hard-working kids from low-income families break the cycle of poverty through education. Since its early beginnings in New York nearly 40 years ago, over 60 other "Nativity model" middle schools have been founded around the U.S. to help underserved children achieve their full potential and transform their families' lives.

Our schools – Nativity Mission Center (on Manhattan’s Lower East Side), Brooklyn Jesuit Prep (Crown Heights) and Saint Ignatius School (South Bronx) – offer an intensive program that prepares these deserving children for better rates of success in high school, college and beyond. Our rich Jesuit educational tradition also prepares our boys and girls to become “men and women for others” on their road toward intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical growth.

New York Nativity schools are founded on three integrated components:

• Middle Schools – single-sex classrooms with an extended school hours and an integrated after-school program • Summer Leadership Program – providing additional learning opportunities and recreational activities that foster character development, leadership skills, and community • Graduate Support Services – educational and financial aid through High School to ensure continued success
