The Weymouth Food Pantry is a neighbor-to-neighbor grassroots project aimed at ensuring food security for financially-struggling families in our town. Utilizing a client choice model, we put our neighbors in charge of their own food choices while also encouraging healthy eating habits. Nourishing neighbor-to-neighbor relations and providing nourishing food for all makes for a stronger Weymouth and a better world. Here are some of our programs and partnerships:
Plant.Grow.Share.: In partnership with a local company and fellow non-profit, we provide free seedlings to any Pantry member who'd like to grow food at home. We also provide free seedlings to anyone that would like to grow food for the Pantry.
Healthy Wey: We collaborate with a local healthy eating and exercise initiative to educate about the importance of choosing and donating nutrient-dense foods.
Farm to Family Program: We double the dollars of members of the Food Pantry at our local Farmer's Market (up to $20 per market day).
Deliveries: For qualifying members of our community who are unable to access the Pantry, we deliver groceries to their homes. This program is used most heavily by homeless families, people with certain disabilities, and seniors.
