About Us
StepUp is a nonprofit that has been working to strengthen the economic stability of North Carolina’s families for over 25 years. StepUp’s new office in Durham provides free pre-employment screening, training, referral, and support services to jobseekers, including those who struggle with a barrier to the employment process (e.g. a criminal background, a gap in employment history, etc.). Last year, StepUp staff assisted over 520 men and women in obtaining employment in North Carolina. This year, they plan to do the same in Durham with a goal of placing 100 people in jobs over the course of 2016.
