The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Medical School for International Health in Collaboration with Columbia University Medical Center is a four-year, American-style medical school that focuses on the emerging field of international health and population-based medicine. Our program is small, competitive, and geared toward students with an interest in cross-cultural, community and preventive medicine.
Classes are taught in Beersheva, Israel in English for the first three years. During the fourth year students may apply to do up to five months of clinical electives at Columbia University and a two-month
international health and medicine clinical elective is conducted in
Kenya, India, Nepal or Ethiopia. Students take the USMLE and are expected to complete residencies in the United States. Our program is approved by the US Dept. of Education for participation in federally funded student loan programs.
