About us

Ubuntu is a term that originated in the Bantu languages of Southern Africa and it conveys the sense that we exist only in relation to others. The purpose of Ubuntu Global Connections is to initiate and develop relationships among people from different cultures by offering immersion experiences that promote mutual understanding as both groups learn from each other through working and being together. Ubuntu Global Connections offers educational service trips to South Africa for American students and adults and also supports the agencies and organizations where volunteers serve. Ubuntu Global Connections provides volunteers to help such organizations reach their goals, works with the organizations to ensure that the hands-on service is consistent with their specific needs, and offers financial support and in-kind donations.
