Meals on Wheels of Chester County

The mission of Meals on Wheels of Chester County is to reach out to homebound residents in the county with a nutritionally balanced meal five days a week, and to increase the number of volunteers to accommodate the growing senior population. The program depends on volunteers to pick up meals from designated food providers (such as hospitals, nursing homes, etc.) and deliver them in their own cars. In addition to delivering a hot, nutritious meal, the volunteer provides a social contact which is especially important to those who are homebound. Clients are of any age and economic status. The only criteria is that clients must be homebound and unable to prepare a nutritious meal for themselves. Donations assist the organization in purchasing meals.
