Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services of NC

The mission of FVRC is "Promoting peaceful homes, building safe communities, and empowering individuals and families to heal from domestic and sexual violence."

Because we believe violence and abuse in the home generate violence in the community (and in the world,) and because we believe it is an inherent right to be safe in one's home and community, we work aggressively to empower individuals and families to live free from violence and abuse through programs of education, prevention and intervention.

We provide comprehensive programs in those three areas: through education, we seek to bring about a change in attitude, urging zero tolerance for violence and abuse in our homes and communities; we attempt to prevent unacceptable behavior by assisting clients and services providers with safety and other preventive measures, prior to escalation into abusive and violent actions; when necessary, we intervene with services designed to protect and/or remove victims from unsafe circumstances.
