About Us

The Joyce Ivy Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2006, is dedicated to the academic advancement of post-secondary opportunities for young women. The Foundation seeks to broaden the college aspirations of talented high school women from the Midwest and primarily serves lower and middle-income, and first generation, college students. Through the Joyce Ivy Summer Scholars program, the Foundation provides scholarships for female high school students to participate in summer academic programs on the campuses of highly selective college and university partners, such as Harvard, Brown, Stanford, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Barnard, and Smith. The Foundation hosts an annual College Admissions Symposium in southeastern Michigan for Midwest students and families, college counselors, community-based organization leaders, and educators. The Foundation also periodically conducts research on college counseling practices in the Midwestern states.
