The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation of Florida ("ACLU"), a statewide affiliate of the National ACLU, has opened an office in the Orlando area .

The ACLU works in the courts, legislatures and, through public education programs, in communities to defend and expand individual rights and personal freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and civil rights laws.

The ACLU litigates a broad range of complex constitutional cases in federal and state courts including, but not limited to, free speech, Establishment Clause / freedom of religion, lesbian and gay rights, equal protection, civil rights, 4th Amendment rights, and privacy rights. The ACLU litigates through direct representation and by filing amicus briefs. Advocacy is not limited to the courts as the ACLU engages in public education and works in coalition with other Florida organizations on civil rights / civil liberties issues.
