Description

The National Council of Jewish Women in Dallas founded LIFT in 1961 in response to the critical need for educating thousands of functionally illiterate adults in the greater Dallas area. The mission of LIFT is to enhance lives and strengthen communities by raising the adult literacy rate in the Dallas Metroplex. The motto is "Forging keys to self-reliance and hope". This is done through various literacy programs administered by dedicated volunteer instructors. The various programs range from Reading Readiness and Basic Literacy to ESL Literacy and GED Preparation.
